Europe/Turkey

Since 2014 RET in Turkey has touched the lives of over 250,000 direct program participants and approximately 2 million indirect beneficiaries through 26 projects.

The interventions in Turkey have been centered around three pillars:
1) Enhancing the resilience of vulnerable groups with four focused protection approach (child protection, prevention of early forced marriages and child labor, awareness raising and case management;
2) Promoting the socio-economic empowerment and self-resilience of women through a holistic approach focusing on income generation, mentorship, business development, networking and value chain;
3) Empowering youth to become agents for positive change through education, performing arts, community engagement and youth ambassadorship, and mainstreaming social cohesion.

These pillars have been implemented through different programs and multiple tools, using Protection (skills building, psychosocial support, language training programs, music and arts, vocational training, sexual and reproductive health training, counseling and mentorshipâ€Ĥ) Education, Decent Work and Capacity Building (including institutional building) to protect and build the resilience of refugees and venerable host community in Turkey. Key themes of interventions in Turkey also include Gender- based Violence prevention and mitigation, safe spaces for young girls and adolescences, youth empowerment, women’s socioeconomic empowerment, self-reliance and women’s business networks.

60 Women’s ‘Centers for Livelihoods’ have been built through a national network of businesswomen to support local women’s income generating projects.
